Easy to install

The original cover needs to be removed before the replacement cover can be put in place.
After removing the old cover You can then use a flathead for prying the four major attachment clips out of the passenger side of fob assembly. These are highlighted in red on the photo below. Be aware of the yellow locating tabs, which must be disconnected.
Replace replacement fiat 500 key fob with a # CR2032 coin cell battery. Make sure that the "+" positive side of the battery is aligned to the opening on the fob and that the -" negative side is facing the rubber buttons.
Reattach the passenger-side mirror cover by aligning locating tabs. After you have done this, place the fob for the driver side back in your car and test it by pressing the push button on the front of the car key. If everything is functioning properly the parking lights will be activated and the doors should automatically shut.

The key fob is equipped with a microchip which communicates with the Body Control Module. When you insert the key in your Fiat key fob, it press an ignition switch, which serves as an "key-in-ignition" reminder. The BCM will detect the transponder in the key fob, to verify the validity of the key.
